Valencia Museum Pass

Valencia Museum Pass

Valencia does not have a dedicated standalone museum pass. The closest equivalent is the Valencia Tourist Card, which bundles free entry to 14 municipal museums and monuments with unlimited public transport. This page covers the Tourist Card's museum inclusions, the best free admission days available without any pass, and how to decide whether a card makes sense for your trip.

This UNESCO World Heritage 15th-century Gothic trading hall is included free with the Tourist Card. It is also free independently every Sunday and on public holidays, so timing your visit can save you the card cost.

Oceanogràfic is not free – only discounted

The most visited paid attraction in Valencia (€33.70 adult) is only 10% discounted with the Tourist Card, not free. If the Oceanogràfic is in your plan, the 72h combo bundle (card + Oceanogràfic + Science Museum + Hemisfèric from €69.98) gives better value.

Common questions

FAQs

Is the Valencia museum pass worth buying?

It depends on your itinerary and how you move around the city. The Museo de Bellas Artes – Valencia's best permanent collection – is permanently free without any pass. La Lonja de la Seda is free every Sunday. The individual entry prices for included municipal venues are low (€2–€9 each). The card's museum-only value is strongest if you plan to visit five or more paid venues in 72 hours. The transport value is easier to justify: three or more metro/tram journeys per day make the 72h card (€25) cheaper than buying SUMA 10 tickets separately.

Does Valencia have a dedicated museum pass like Barcelona's Articket?

No. Valencia does not have an Articket-style pass dedicated to museums. The Valencia Tourist Card is the only city-wide pass, and it combines municipal museum access with public transport. Several major collections are free anyway – the Museo de Bellas Artes is always free, IVAM is free on Sundays and Wednesday afternoons, and the National Ceramics Museum is free on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. If you plan your visit around these free days, a pass may not be necessary.

Where can I buy the Valencia Tourist Card?

The cheapest option is online , where you get approximately 10% off the gate price (€15 becomes around €13.50 for 24h; €25 becomes around €22.50 for 72h). You can also buy at the Valencia Airport tourist kiosk on arrival, at city tourist offices in the historic centre, and through resellers including GetYourGuide and Hellotickets. The card does not need to be activated at purchase – it starts on first use, so buying early does not waste time.
