About
Travel planning,
made clearer.
We built Travel Patterned because trip planning had become the worst part of travelling. Too many tabs, too many generic lists, and not enough of what you actually needed to make a decision.
Why we exist
Most travel sites show you everything.
We show you what fits.
There is no shortage of travel content. The problem is the signal-to-noise ratio. Search for a weekend away and you will find 400 hotels, twelve blog posts recommending the same five restaurants, and a “top things to do” list that could apply to any city in Europe.
We built Travel Patterned around a different idea. Most people do not start from a destination — they start from a feeling. A foodie city break. A long weekend somewhere with good architecture and not too many tourists. A quick flight and two nights somewhere that does not require three months of research to feel confident about.
We call that a travel pattern. And it is how we think the whole thing should work.
What we care about
Clarity first
Trip planning should not require fifteen tabs open at once. We strip out the noise and give you what actually matters for making a decision.
Honest curation
We only recommend things we would book ourselves. Our affiliate links earn us a small commission when you do — and that is always disclosed.
Pattern, not destination
You don't always know where you want to go. You know you want a foodie city break, or a long weekend with good architecture. Start from that.
Who we are
Made by travellers, for travellers.
We are not a travel agency. We are not travel influencers either. We are two people who travel a lot, and got tired of how complicated and cluttered the planning side of it always felt.
Travel Patterned is our attempt to fix that — starting with the destinations we know best, and building outward from there. We make money through affiliate commissions when you book through our links, which keeps the site free and independent. We are upfront about that, and we only recommend things we would actually book ourselves.
If you have a question, a suggestion, or just want to tell us about a great restaurant in Lisbon — we would genuinely like to hear it.
Ready to plan something?
Start with a city, a type of trip, or just a feeling. We will take it from there.
